Chat
Chat, the first item in the left sidebar, is where you talk to Alphie. You and Alphie share one continuous conversation rather than several separate threads; scroll up to see earlier messages.
How do I send a message?
Type in the Send a message... box at the bottom of the page and press Enter or click the send button on the right. While Alphie is replying, the send button turns into a stop button; click it to make Alphie stop.
How do I send Alphie an image or a file?
- Click the paperclip button (upload attachment) to the left of the input box and pick an image or file. On a phone you first choose between photos/videos and files.
- You can also paste a screenshot straight into the input box, or drag a file into the chat area.
- Common documents and spreadsheets work, e.g. txt, md, pdf, xlsx, csv, json, and all kinds of code files.
- Images need a model that can see images. If the current model can't, you'll see a warning asking you to switch to a vision model. For example, deepseek Flash and Doubao Seed 2.1 Lite can read images; deepseek V4 Pro can't.
How do I use voice input?
Click the microphone button (voice input) to the right of the input box; when you finish speaking the text lands in the input box. Voice input is available to everyone; what it costs counts toward the daily quota.
How do I switch models?
The current model's name is shown at the top-right of the chat page. Click it to open the model menu and pick another.
- On the free plan you can only use models from providers you've added your own key for; the other providers' models are greyed out in the menu, marked "Add a … key to use".
- Until you've added a key, this spot says Add API key instead; click it to add one. See "Quota and API keys".
How do I find something we talked about before?
- Scroll up in the chat area to load earlier messages; click Latest in the bottom-right to jump back down.
- Search: click the magnifier button (search chat history) at the top-right of the chat area and type a keyword.
- Favorites: hover over a message to see small buttons for copy, quote and favorite. After you favorite a message, click the bookmark button (Favorites) at the top-right of the chat area to find it again.
- On a phone these buttons are in the top bar or the top-left menu.
How do I copy or quote a reply?
Hover over the message: the copy button puts its text on your clipboard; the quote button attaches it to the input box so you can ask about it.
What is the Agenda button for?
The checklist-shaped button at the top-right of the chat area is Agenda. It shows what Alphie has lined up for you, grouped into Needs your attention, In progress, Upcoming and Recent Activities. When you ask Alphie to do several things in order, or to do something at a certain time, it goes here.
How do I make Alphie remember or forget something?
- Remember: just say "Remember: …", e.g. "Remember: I'm allergic to peanuts".
- Forget: just say "Delete the memory about …". See "Account and privacy".
- What Alphie remembers can be viewed under Library → Persona.
Can I start a new conversation or clear the current chat?
Not at the moment. The chat page has no "new conversation" or "clear chat" button; everything stays in one conversation. To change topic, just say so — Alphie will follow. For deleting chat history, see "Account and privacy".
